The confluence of three major interests, that of a middle school teacher, a stock and commodity trader, and a world traveler, has led Ginger Heller to write, The Kid Who Beat Wall Street and Saved Africa, an exciting adventure story for young adults, and The Boy Who Rode the Tiger: A Story of Courage and Grace…a story about India
She says:
I love all children, but my favorite ones are from the middle school age group. I think some of them have been living inside me and, would you believe, a few of them just popped out. That’s right; all of a sudden these characters appeared. Unbeknownst to me they started writing a story – all by themselves.
It happened one night while I was typing away. I had decided to close the computer when a feeling from inside made me wait. Why? I must finish this chapter, I thought, so I can find out how it ends. That’s when I realized I was writing book; or rather the characters were.
Heller has enjoyed a career in several diverse areas: first as a middle school teacher, then as a trader in the stock and commodity markets, owning her own commodity trading company, and now as an author. She also loves to travel, particularly to India, and has had the good fortune to visit most of the seven continents several times.
Ginger Heller’s children are now all grown, yet she and her husband, along with a twenty-two pound Maine Coon cat, still call Connecticut their home.
